General Information
Is the 2nd largest populated city in the country, located south west of the Peruvian country at 7600 ft. Known for being the most industrialized city after Lima, Arequipa’s historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage full of beautiful Colonial buildings. They own one of the most spectacular natural sites in Peru, the Colca Canyon, which is twice as deep as the Great Canyon in the USA.
- Santa Catalina Monastery: a place full of history and immense beauty. It has splendid art pieces such an baroque style altar carved in one single piece, various paintings from the famous Cusco School of Art. Visit and experience the colonial Monastery life through their cloisters, the Bell Tower, and its Church.
- Yanahuara: also known as Villa Hermosa de Yanahuara, this is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city from where you will have a privileged view of the city, the Misti volcano and the old agricultural terraces. Their beautiful arches built with white volcanic rock add the perfect frame to your visit.
